in the 60s and 70s when I was a teenager. The only one that really worked for me was Weight Watchers. The reason I feel it was so successful besides the fact that I lost weight consistently for the first time, was that I learned to eat balanced meals and leave the table before I was full. If you feel full, you have gone way beyond overeating. This regime helped me develop habits that have lasted me a lifetime. Momma Kath |

From my experience the secret to successful weight loss, and control(which to me is more important than loss) is to address first what habits you have then see which ones to keep and which ones to change. Keeping a journal/diary of your daily intake, then evaluating it together after a week or so. An action becomes a habit when you "train" yourself to do it without thinking, for example--water, I don't drink water like I should, and I would assume that I am not alone, in order for me to change my habits to include drinking water I will have to stick to it long enough to where I don't even think about it anymore, it just comes natural. My biggest problem is PCOS which plagues many of us on this board, and makes is VERY difficult to lose or maintain weight. There IS a way to overcome this, but it takes a lot of work, and planning.
