I have been truly motivated to keep on trying and not give up. I just wanted to e -mail you girls to let you know my story. I have been ttc for 3 1/2 years and have had no luck. I have a DS who is going to be 4. After his birth I got on birth contol for 3 months and I decided that I wanted to have more children. So I got of the pill and I am still ttc. I was diagnosed with PCOS in March of 2004. I am annovulatory. I went on three cycles of clomid starting @ 50mg per cycle then increased to 150mg per cycle. Also, while on the clomid cycles, I had to take an insulin sensitizing agent called glucophage ( another hormone). During these three months I had progesterone levels between 7 and 10 and the DR wanted them above 20. We had no luck. And to add to all the drama I was losing my hair because of the hormone stress on my body. The DR wanted me to start on hcg shots, but since my insurance did not cover them, they were too costly. Although my DH and I were sad, we chose not to go into debt and chose not to lose all my hair. While I was going through my time of depression, I found myself at the bookstore still trying to figure out how I could get PG without it having to be so costly and hard on my body. I started to discover many books on natural conception and said to myself, " Why have I not heard of this sooner? Where have I been?" After lots and lots of research, I discovered herbs,teas,decoctions,accupunture, PCOS diets and exercizes, all of which I started immediately. I had my last AF on July 6,2004 and on July 13,2004 I started EVERYTHING. I remember telling my DH, " What have I got to lose? I will only get healthier and I would be able to say that I gave it my best shot." I started to drink green tea twice a day and I grew to crave it. I also took Vitex, Red Clover, and Red Raspberry. I started the South Beach Diet since it was suggested by Momma Kath and began Yoga and Pilate exercises. This is where my story gets a little different. I knew that I was supposed to take my BBT's and chart my CM's daily. I never did this because I wasn't ready to. I thought, " I'll allow myself to get into the swing of the herbs, diet and excercise and I'll start the charting next month." So needless to say, I did not know when I O'd. My DH and I just tried to enjoy BD this month. I still have not done any charting but continue to take my herbs, watch my food, and exercise. My AF is TWO WEEKS LATE. Let me not forget to mention that even though I was annovulatory, I still had my AF like clockwork. I do not have BBT's to show that I might be PG so I have to do it the old fashioned way and wait for my AF. It might be mind playing tricks on me, but I do feel some PG symptoms. I have felt bloated since the day that I felt that it was my AF coming. I had cramping the day before I should have had my AF. I still occasionally have cramping but NO AF. I feel very strong hunger pangs, stronger than the hunger pangs that I feel while I am on the diet. I also have a very watery CM on occasion. I also feel very fat in my upper tummy and fill quickly when I eat. I also feel alot of pressure in my abdomen. Tell me Momma Kath what do you think? I am to afraid to take a HPT in fear that it will be a BFN. I will take one in about a week and I wiill let you know the results. I tried to conceive for nearly 10 yrs but could not - the doctors never found the reason. Using Momma Kath's herbs, I had 3 pgs in 3 yrs (I lost the one in the middle at 18 wks). The only thing I was doing differently during those three years was taking Momma Kath's herbs and even though I was 38-40 at the time, my fertility was the highest that it had ever been. About 18 months ago, I started having very irregular cycles. According to my charts, almost all of them were annov. I would have a 17 day cycle followed by a 65 day cycle and then a 34 day cycle - you never knew what to expect. I'm definitely perimenopausal - my doctor's office agrees. A few weeks ago, I wrote Momma Kath and asked her what she had to help with this insanity, and joked with her that I was almost afraid to order her herbs because I would probably get pregnant again. Well - she recommended several things and I started them two weeks into my last cycle. I then had my first normal 4 week cycle in 18 months. And, AF was normal, too - I had been having very heavy bleeding with large clots, etc.. (I know - TMI - sorry!) I really felt better, physically, than I had in some time. Then - two weeks ago - my charts (I do paper and Fertility Friend) both showed an o surge. My husband and I both laughed. I was sure it was a mistake, but we had BD the night before the O without expecting it. Surprisingly, my temps stayed up. This morning I woke up (12 dpo) and gagged twice while trying to brush my teeth. Then I threw up my vitamins. I went to CVS and bought a pregnancy test. I know it isn't very sensitive, but I don't like shadow lines and question marks, so I avoid the sensitive tests. Well - it was definitely, completely, unequivocally positive. Tonight I am cramping and spotting. My back hurts and the spotting seems to be getting heavier - heading towards light bleeding rather than spotting. I am fairly certain this will be a chemical pg and that AF will be in full swing tomorrow. I might be wrong, but I had an early m/c before and this feels very much like that. It will be sad if that happens, but not devastating yet because the shock of seeing those two dark lines hasn't worn off yet so I didn't have a chance to get emotionally invested in this pregnancy before I showed signs of losing it. Dh has very low sperm count (less than 3 million) We didn't find that out until 1 month ago. After only one iui with out meds, my RE said our chances were 2%. We decided to give it a try and planned on IVF for the next month and heading off to another city. We were thrilled to find out I was pregnant the day before the Clomid challenge. I wanted everyone to know who's dh has a low sperm count that and iui is very possible. Don't give up the faith. Well I tested this morning and I got a BFP. I have to start from the beginning so you can get a better understanding. I haven't been having regular periods since my last MC on 7/19/2001. I would only see them whenever they showed up. Back then, we weren't thinking of trying again because what the MC had done to me emotionally. In the beginning of this year we decided to try again. Since taking your advice on the False Unicorn and Red Raspberry I have had three 29 day cycles, with my bloodwork showing ovulation with high progesterone levels. After nearly three years of 60 day cycles I finally feel it's going the right way! My specialist has said he reckons my problems were caused by taking the depo injection and my body has come back to normal. He wants me to go away and try naturally for three months before starting on Clomid. Of course he doesn't think the herbs made any difference, but I'm 100% sure that they made all the difference (combined with positive thinking and lots of support). I just wanted to write to you and tell you that I know for a fact that the alfalfa and/or other herbs are definitely making my body MORE ALKALINE because I have the litmus paper to test my PH balance. Before taking Herbs For Her #3, when I tested my saliva and/or vaginal mucous the litmus paper ALWAYS TURNED MUSTARD YELLOW (the worst color on the PH balance chart) which means that my body is VERY VERY HIGHLY ACIDIC and as most of us know highly acidic is NOT SPERM FRIENDLY. Well I just tested myself a few minutes ago and the litmus paper turned VIOLET BLUE, which is 2nd best for being alkaline (dark blue is the best) and this is only after a week of using Herbs For Her #3!!! Here goes, I was TTC for a year and a half before visiting a specialist (though, I had not been using birth control for the prior 3 1/2 years). My regular ob/gyn had given me clomid for a few months to see if that would help, but it did not. After trying clomid for 3 months, m y ob/gyn sent me to a clinic that she herself had gone to. I was diagnosed with endometriosis (later identified as stage 3) along with a short luteal phase. I chose to have the laparoscopy and the RE removed quite a bit. I had really wanted to conceive on my own and I was determined to do everything possible to increase those chances. Unfortunately, I was not able to do so. I did a few rounds of IUI and then two rounds of IVF. After my first IVF treatment, I was told that my egg quality was not great (due to the endometriosis) and that my fertilized eggs tended to multi-nucleate (not a good thing!!). I was so discouraged - and depressed, I really felt hopeless. Anyway, my husband and I decided that we would do one more round and then take a break. In between the rounds, I used some chinese herbs for 2 weeks and then during the first month of my 2nd IVF cycle (antagon cycle with the pill) I used Momma Kath's Herbs for Her. In addition, I had been doing accupuncture for the prior 4 months. I believe that the combination of all of these things helped me reach success. I am now 10 weeks pregnant and sometimes still can't believe it!
