ANNOYING TTC COMMENTS- Album #2

After telling relatives I was on injectables,
they felt the need to warn me of the risks of multiples
(like I don't know already!). My MIL actually said,
"You don't want to end up with 7 babies like the couple in Iowa".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Doesn't everyone have that "friend" or "relative"
who spent thousands of $$'s on fertility treatments
with no success and as soon as
they gave up and stopped trying, they were PG?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello Direct Promotion
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My DH has been diagnosed with a low SA and a varicocele.
A friend recommended that I not tell him
we are ttc and then I'd get PG.
Like if I catch those sperm off guard,
they'll be at their peak!?!?
This is very popular with my mother, sister and friends:
"Maybe you just need to gain some weight
and quit exercising so much"
I'm a healthy weight, although naturally on the low end,
and exercise a healthy amount.
I've tried to convince them that since my RE is not concerned,
they shouldn't be either.
Plus, when I conceived my DS on the first try,
I was thinner and exercising more.
The comments haven't stopped and it's going on 14 months!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Oh I just don't understand why you are going to see a RE.
You just need to relax."

This after I had just said that I was not ovulating at all -
and knew that for sure.

Thanks!
You're right, if I just take a nap, I will make an egg pop out!

It really bothers me when God gets the blame for fertility problems.
I'm ttc and going nuts about it watching my BBT and
EVERY little sign that could mean fertility or
pregnancy only to have that awful disappointment
each month when the "visitor" rears its ugly head.
Still, it sickens me w/ the thought of THE
GOD somehow causing all the troubles.
SHAME ON YOU!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know what you mean when you say
you feel people shouldn't blame God about
your infertility, but how come when you
do end up getting pregnant, it's "Oh
God had a plan for you and now must have
been the right time." If God can't
be the blame for infertility, then he
can't be the reason you ARE pregnant either!
stop obsessing so much. look at sil,
she just got pg after 3.5 years,
you have not been trying as long as her.
and from dear old mom "when and if god
feels the time is right, you will get pregnant.
I was pregnant seven times,
but never on birth control
because god has his plans for everyone." thanks
mom, so try at the appropriate times because
if it was gods plans
i would get pregnant at any time of the month?
Hi , my husdand and i have been trying to concieve for 9 months.
But this story did not happen to me .
My friends wife had cancer and she had to have a hysterectimy.
They cant have children of there own.I was working at a farm stand
and there were alot of kids running around screaming carrying on,
what normal children do. And a man came over to my friend and said
"You should be glad you dont have kids look what we have to deal with."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Just go on a holiday and it'll happen! " These are the most annoying words i have heard on my ttc journey!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think that it is ironic how everyone knows someone who has tried longer than you and gotten pregnant. (Example)
I was trying for 6 months and a person would say... "I know someone who tried for a year and got pregnant!"
I was trying for 12 months and a person would say... " I know someone who tried for two years and got pregnant!"
I have been trying for two years and now all of a sudden that same person would say... "I know someone who tried for 5 years and just now got pregnant!"
So my question is to this person "am I the problem or are YOU the problem!" I really hate when they try to out do your pain.
I have been ttc for over 2 years and have had 2 miscarriages.
You have to just love the comment made to me by
some family members "joking around".
Why don't you have sex w/the dog,
he seems to want it all the time, he'd get you pregnant.
Thanks....like that was one of the options I was considering.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, there's always the famous "You're tryng too hard.
I bet the minute you quit trying,
it will happen". We've tried the relaxed way of
things for 3 years now and it hasn't happened yet-
that's why we've chosen to educate ourselves
and go through the routine of having to make love
when we have to, not because we're in the mood,
charting bbt, IUI, fertility drugs, etc....
And, lets not forget the comment that I received one time-
"You guys must not be doing it right".
If there's another way, please tell me about it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Although there are MANY things people
say that have annoyed I would have to
say a few of the worst ones were.....
"You guys sure you're doing it right?...
you could borrow my husband."
You mean it doesn't go in my ***?
Jerks!
I have miscarried three times and one tubel.
I HATE HATE HATE when people say,
"Well at least you know you could get pregnant."
If I can't hold the pregnancy,
what difference does it make if I could get pregnant?!?!?!?
But most of all it bothers me when people
who have been trying for less then a year
and are pregnant now tell me they know
how I am feeling. Try for about 3 and half
more years and have a few miscarriages and
THEN tell me you know how I am feeling!!!
I know people mean well,
but THINK before you share your comments!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here's the annoying comment of the century:
I live in Dallas.
My entire family lives in San Antonio.
So I'm always hanging out with my best friend's family,
uncles and aunts and cousins and all.
They are used to having babies young--
even my best friend has a li'l boy.
Her cousin, Tequila and I don't have any kids
and we're both 20. We were having a private talk
in the back room during one of their family gatherings,
and guess what the rumor running around their family is??
That Tequila and I can't *have* any kids!
I'm ONLY 20! How ignorant and insensitive is THAT?!

How about when your MIL always says to you--
"When are you going to make me a grandmother?"
Because you know it is all about her---
UUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Im newly 19 years old and I have PCOS.
I finally found this out after 2 years
of unsuccessful ttc'ing with my dh when
I went to my THIRD second opinion. The first doctor said I was fine without
doing anything but a pap smear.
The second doctor said thee most annoying comments:
"Youre too young to be thinking about children,
you have lots of time to have children.
You don't need a baby."
HELLO!!!!! What are you my mother?
What am I, 12??
Just because I am young doesnt mean
I dont have rights and feelings!
I am a legal adult, and just because
Im younger than all the other women
and not over 35 does not mean I dont know
the frustrations and sorrow that goes by with
EVERY unsuccessful cycle.
If I hear "Youre so young, why do you want a baby?"
from another person again I will SCREAM!
The third doctor treated me as a person,
and finally I am getting treatment despite my age.

Thanks! I needed to vent!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
>From a woman also ttc
"I wish I would have a m/c just so I know
I could get pregnant".
"Well you have one child so
I'm not buying that you have IF problems."
Never mind that I'm not ovulating.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My dear mother and father -
bless their hearts -
continue to tell me how they
"are not getting any younger"
...keep in mind they have 6 grandchildren
(most recent birth - September 2000)...
I can't blame them though...
they have no idea
we've been ttc since April of 1999.

If I get told to
"Just relax, it'll happen" one more time
I think I'll choke the person...
GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Mrs.LisaW
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really HATE this one....
"Go to bed not wanting one and you will probably
have 3 or 4!"
How could I not think about it when
that is ALL i want?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How about the "wonderful" comment
after losing a baby that
"the next one will be more special !!!"
I have heard this way too many times
and it still doesn't make any sense!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gotta love this one. From my younger sister who has two children while not married, living on welfare with the father of the kids who works off the books. Why don't you adopt, you already have one DD (12), glad it's not hereditary I got pg the first time we tried. Not to mention everyone asking "are you pg yet?" Everytime I see them. And from my father, well you have everything else - you are doing better then your brother and sisters. Thanks for letting me vent!!!!!!!
